“Breaking Bad”, serie giunta alla quinta stagione, fa incetta di premi agli Emmy Awards, gli Oscar della tv. La serie ideata da Vince Gilligan si è aggiudicata 5 statuette, a partire da quella per il miglior telefilm nella categoria Drama. Gli altri quattro premi per “Breaking Bad” sono andati a Bryan Cranston (migliore attore protagonista in un drama), Aaron Paul (migliore attore non protagonista in un drama), Anna Gunn (migliore attrice non protagonista in un drama) e Moira Walley-Beckett (sceneggiatura per un drama).
Tre premi sono andati invece a “Modern Family”: migliore serie nella categoria Comedy, Ty Burrell (migliore attore non protagonista in una comedy), Gail Mancuso (regia per una comedy).
Migliore attice protagonista in un drama è stata decretata Julianna Margulies, per “The Good Wife”, mentre per le comedy hanno vinto l’Emmy Jim Parsons (migliore attore protagonista) per “The Big Bang Theory” e Julia Louis-Dreyfus (migliore attrice protagonista) per “Veep”.
“Games of Thrones” (“Il Trono di Spade”), che con ben 19 candidature era il titolo che puntava ad ottenere più premi, ne ha vinto alla fine quattro, sebbene nelle categorie meno importanti: migliori costumi e migliori effetti speciali. Il risultato peggiore è stato decisamente per ‘House of Cards’, con un ambizioso Kevin Spacey obssesionato dal voler arrivare allo Studio Ovale della Casa Bianca, che nonostante le sue 13 nominations ne ha ottenuto solo uno per il miglior sonoro.
